Iran's Pezeshkian says US and Israel seek to sow internal divisions, calls for national unity

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the United States and Israel are seeking to create and deepen internal divisions within Iran after failing to subdue the country through war or military action, according to Iran's state news agency IRNA.

Speaking on the need to preserve unity, solidarity and national cohesion, Pezeshkian said Iran's adversaries have shifted their approach toward fostering internal discord as a means of undermining the country.

The Iranian president stressed that public participation and cooperation among all segments of society represent the most important support for Iran in overcoming external threats and resolving domestic challenges.

The remarks come amid continued tension between Iran and both the United States and Israel over Tehran's nuclear program and its role in regional conflicts.

IRNA did not report additional specifics on the nature of the alleged efforts to sow division, and there was no immediate response from US or Israeli officials.
