Iran's Araghchi says Europe must confront US 'aggression'
Iran's foreign minister raised the issue during talks with his Spanish counterpart on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Iran's IRNA reported.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Thursday that European countries must confront what he described as US aggression, during a meeting with his Spanish counterpart on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, according to Iran's state news agency IRNA.
The talks were part of an intensive schedule of diplomatic activity Araghchi has pursued during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Iran's positions at the UN
According to IRNA, Araghchi placed what he characterized as Washington's war of aggression, regional insecurity, and Israel's occupation and actions in the region at the center of his discussions with the Spanish foreign minister.
Iranian officials have used the UN General Assembly sessions to press their positions on regional security and relations with Western countries, amid continued tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The available report did not include the Spanish foreign minister's response to the points raised by Araghchi.
