Investigation Maps Scale of US Deportations to Third Countries
A consortium of international media outlets says more than 25,000 people have been sent by Washington to countries that are not their own since last year.
Since January 2025, the United States has deported more than 25,000 people to so-called third countries — nations other than their own — according to an investigation by France 24 and Forbidden Stories.
Working with a team of 26 international media outlets, the investigation drew on information from non-governmental organizations and open sources to count and map the deportations, France 24 reported.
The outlet said the findings illustrate the scale of a deportation campaign it described as carried out with limited public visibility.
