India Beat Pakistan by 19 Runs to Win Asian Games Cricket Gold

India has won the gold medal in men's cricket at the Asian Games in Japan, beating rivals Pakistan by 19 runs in the final.

The result gives India the top spot on the podium in one of the tournament's most closely watched events, with the India-Pakistan rivalry traditionally drawing some of the largest audiences in the sport.

Pakistan took home the silver medal after falling short in the chase, finishing 19 runs behind India's total.

Cricket has featured on the Asian Games programme as organisers look to broaden the event's appeal across the region, and a gold-medal meeting between India and Pakistan was widely anticipated once both sides reached the final.

Further details of the match, including the scorecard and reaction from both camps, were being updated as the event concluded.
