A fire broke out aboard a ferry in the Philippines. The initial death toll of five was revised upward to at least 35 deaths, according to local authorities. Around fifty people remain unaccounted for.
The Philippine Coast Guard rescued 30 passengers and 13 crew members from the vessel, they said. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
