ICE Agent Arrested in Minneapolis on Assault and False Reporting Charges
Christian Castro, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, was arrested Wednesday on charges stemming from shooting a Venezuelan man through an apartment door in February.
Christian Castro, a federal immigration officer, was taken into custody by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in Minneapolis and booked into Hennepin County Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant, the agency said. The arrest comes eight months after Castro allegedly shot and wounded a Venezuelan man through the door of his apartment while children were present.
The incident occurred during a period of increased immigration enforcement operations under the Trump administration's deportation initiatives. Castro faces charges of assault and false reporting of a crime, according to authorities.
