Sam Altman, head of OpenAI, called for "extreme attention" to a technology that is likely to accelerate rapidly, pleading for enhanced international cooperation.
Dario Amodei, head of Anthropic, promised that his company would "slow down as much as necessary" the pace of development of its artificial intelligence systems.
