Aimee-Ffion Edwards, who has played rugby for Wales, is returning to television as Shirley, an MI5 agent in Slow Horses. In an interview with The Guardian, Edwards discussed the physical demands of the role, including a scene where she jumped from a nightclub balcony while harnessed. "It was quite hard," she said, describing how she had to mentally prepare herself for the stunt despite knowing she was safely secured.

Edwards noted that her rugby background contributes to her fearlessness on set. The actor has also taken on a Welsh interpretation of Princess Leia in another project, reflecting her range across different character types and genres.
