Houthis claim drone and missile attack on Saudi military base
Iran-allied Houthi fighters say they targeted a southern Saudi base with weapons and command centers as fighting intensifies with Yemeni government forces.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said on X that drones and missiles were used to attack the Sharurah base in southern Saudi Arabia, claiming the strike targeted "weapons depots and command and control centres that are managing the aggression against our nation and people."
The attack comes as renewed fighting between Houthi forces and Yemen's government forces is prompting growing numbers of civilians to flee the region.
