The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said Iran-backed Houthi forces launched fresh attacks on the kingdom's south, France 24 reported, after the rebels launched an offensive seeking control of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
Adam Baron, a fellow at the New America Foundation, told France 24 that if the Houthis and allied forces could disrupt shipping in both the Red Sea and the Gulf, "this would be a tremendous exercise of leverage to put pressure for a resolution."
