Hindu Movement BAPS Called 'Spearhead' of India's Influence Strategy After Eiffel Tower Incident
Women workers were reportedly excluded during a visit by the group, drawing scrutiny of its ties to Prime Minister Modi, according to RFI.

The Hindu religious organization BAPS drew scrutiny after women employed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris were reportedly excluded from the area during a visit by a BAPS delegation, RFI reported.
RFI, citing CNRS researcher Christophe Jaffrelot, described BAPS, which recently inaugurated a temple near Paris, as having close ties to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who the report said uses the movement to promote Hindu nationalism internationally.
