Hezbollah's disarmament blocked by lack of political settlement, analyst says

Dr. Filippo Dionigi, Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Bristol, told France 24 that the central obstacle to Hezbollah's disarmament is not the Lebanese Armed Forces' military capacity, but the absence of a political settlement that would make disarmament both legitimate and sustainable.
According to Dionigi, additional funding and weapons for the Lebanese military would not resolve what he describes as the fundamental political dilemma underlying Hezbollah's armed presence.
