War in Ukraine: Russian strikes target Kyiv and the Odesa region, killing a child

A series of Russian strikes targeted the Ukrainian capital Kyiv as well as the Odesa region overnight from Thursday to Friday, according to Ukrainian authorities cited by France 24.
A Russian drone struck a sixteen-story residential building in central Kyiv, killing a 14-year-old boy and wounding at least seven other people, police said.
Another attack also killed one person in the Odesa region in the south of the country, Ukrainian authorities said.
France 24's correspondent in Kyiv, Gulliver Cragg, provided details on how the strikes unfolded and their context.
These attacks are part of the continuation of Russian strikes on urban targets in Ukraine, which continue to claim civilian lives as the conflict drags on.
