Zack Polanski is facing opposition from within his own party in his bid to contest the Holborn and St Pancras byelection for the Green Party, according to a report by The Guardian.
Hamza Chowdhury, a Green representative on Camden council in north London, has said he is also seeking the party's nomination for the seat. Chowdhury argued that the constituency does not need "a politician you'll only see on a leaflet," the report said.
According to the report, Chowdhury said most of his fellow Green councillors in Camden support his bid for the nomination.
The byelection was confirmed for 8 October, following the formal resignation of Keir Starmer as an MP for the seat, the report said.
