Gaza Documentary 'NAZA' Tops Italian Box Office, Outperforming Marvel Re-release

An Italian-language documentary about the war in Gaza, titled "NAZA," has topped box office charts in Italian cinemas, outperforming the re-released "Avengers: Endgame: Encore," according to reports.

The film, described as an award-winning documentary, examines what its makers describe as "the systems behind the killing of Palestinian civilians" during the war in Gaza. Its strong performance against a major Hollywood blockbuster re-release has drawn attention in the Italian film industry as a notable moment for documentary cinema.

"NAZA" is set to have its global premiere later this month, following its box office run in Italy. Details on its wider international distribution plans were not immediately available.

Documentaries addressing the Gaza war have drawn significant audience interest in various markets since the conflict began, with filmmakers and distributors noting heightened public demand for in-depth journalistic and documentary coverage of the war's civilian impact.

The film's box office success in Italy comes amid continued global debate over the conduct and consequences of the war in Gaza, with documentary filmmaking serving as one avenue through which different perspectives on the conflict have reached wider audiences.
