Fugitive developer Jean Nassif rants at NSW corruption inquiry from Beirut
Property developer Jean Nassif, calling in from Lebanon, declared his innocence and threatened legal action while giving evidence to Australia's corruption watchdog.
Jean Nassif, 58, appeared via video link to the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption inquiry from his Beirut bedroom on Monday. Nassif, who is wanted in Australia on fraud-related charges, declared "I'm not corrupt" and claimed his daughter was forced to plead guilty to fraud, according to The Guardian.
During the hearing, Nassif threatened to withdraw from the inquiry and said he would take the New South Wales government to the Hague. He told counsel assisting Peggy Dwyer that he would return to Australia once he clears his name.
