Soner Akca, a French national known as "El Francés," was arrested in Medellin, Colombia, on June 12, Le Monde reported.
Akca, 43, originally from Montfermeil, is one of few French nationals to become a drug baron in Colombia, according to the report, which said he is suspected of organizing an international network trafficking cocaine chemically modified in laboratories to be mixed with food products, with alleged accomplices in France.
