France 24 Observers investigated viral videos on X purporting to show Houthi rebels attacking Saudi-backed forces and Saudi Aramco facilities. One widely shared clip, presented as an ambush, was found to be edited footage of Houthi military drills from 2024, with football commentary layered over it and flag blurs obscuring Israeli, British and US symbols—not Saudi insignia.
Other videos falsely linked to Houthi strikes on Saudi Aramco refineries were traced to separate incidents: unrelated fires in Texas and Russia, according to the fact-check analysis.
