Four wounded, including Lebanese soldier, in Israeli strike in south Lebanon

Four people, including a Lebanese army soldier, were wounded on Tuesday when an Israeli strike hit a military vehicle in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army said in a statement carried by Anadolu Agency.

According to the army, the soldier was seriously wounded in the attack, which targeted a military vehicle operating in the south of the country. Three other people were also injured, though further details about their identities and conditions were not immediately disclosed.

The strike is the latest in a series of incidents along the Lebanon-Israel border area, where tensions have periodically flared despite a ceasefire arrangement between the two sides. Lebanese authorities have repeatedly accused Israel of violating the truce through strikes on what it describes as military and militant targets inside Lebanese territory.

Israel has not issued an official comment on the specific incident. Its military has in the past said such strikes are aimed at individuals or infrastructure it links to armed groups operating in southern Lebanon, including Hezbollah.

The Lebanese army did not immediately say whether it planned to lodge a formal complaint with international monitors overseeing the ceasefire arrangement. The incident adds to a string of cross-border strikes reported in the region in recent months, which have kept tensions elevated despite ongoing efforts to stabilize the border.
