Former ministers among losers as Isle of Man declares early general election results

Results are being declared in the Isle of Man's 2026 general election, with several former government ministers among the candidates who have lost their seats so far.

As of the latest count, results have been declared in seven of the island's 12 House of Keys constituencies, with the remainder still to be confirmed.

Losses among incumbents

The election has produced a number of upsets among sitting and former ministers, though the full scale of the turnover in the House of Keys, the island's directly elected chamber, will not be clear until all constituencies have reported.

The Isle of Man, a British Crown Dependency with its own parliament, Tynwald, holds general elections to elect members of the House of Keys, who go on to help select the island's Council of Ministers.

Further results are expected as counting continues in the remaining constituencies, which will determine the final composition of the incoming House of Keys and, subsequently, the shape of the next government.

Candidates and parties on the island have not yet issued full statements reacting to the results declared so far.
