Former Labor councillor denies message about damaging NSW minister was tied to fugitive developer work
Sharangan Maheswaran told ICAC a message claiming "we have something that will kill Elliott" had no connection to his political work.
Sharangan Maheswaran, a former Labor councillor, told the Independent Commission Against Corruption on Friday that a message sent to him by lobbyist Jeremy Greenwood stating "We have something that will kill Elliott" was unrelated to work by Greenwood's company Beckington for fugitive property developer Jean Nassif.
Maheswaran said he had a "common interest" with a conservative Liberal operative but denied the message regarding NSW Liberal minister David Elliot's reputation was connected to his political work for Nassif, according to the inquiry hearing.
