Flydubai has suspended its flights to Israel following an incident on a flight along its Dubai-Tel Aviv route, the airline said.
The airline said the suspension will remain in place while authorities investigate what happened on board, though it did not provide extensive additional detail on the incident itself in its public statement.
The move follows reports of a stabbing involving a pilot on a Flydubai flight that was diverted, with passengers describing a frightening experience on board during the journey.
Flydubai has not specified a timeline for when flights to Israel might resume, saying only that the suspension would continue during the investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
The suspension adds to disruption for travelers on the route, and further updates are expected once authorities complete their review of what took place on board the affected flight.
