Florida executes man convicted in Hog Trail Murders case

Florida executed Daniel Owen Conahan Jr on Thursday for the kidnapping and strangling of Richard Allen Montgomery in 1996, making Conahan the state's 15th execution this year. Montgomery's mutilated body was discovered in a wooded area of south-west Florida where authorities have found the remains of at least six people over a three-year span.
Conahan's case is connected to a series of suspected killings that became known as the Hog Trail Murders during the 1990s.
