The first results of the Isle of Man's general election have been declared, covering the constituencies of Douglas South and Onchan, according to the BBC.

Ten further constituencies across the self-governing British Crown dependency have yet to declare their results as the count continues.

An election in stages

The Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea, holds its own parliamentary elections separate from those of the United Kingdom, electing members to its parliament, Tynwald, which is among the oldest continuous legislative bodies in the world.

With the bulk of constituencies still to report, the overall shape of the new parliament remains to be determined as counting proceeds.

The available report did not specify the candidates or parties that won in Douglas South and Onchan.
