Finland Loses Over €330 Million Annually Without Russian Tourists, Expert Says

Finland is losing more than €330 million each year due to the absence of Russian tourists, according to Anastasia Litvina, an expert cited by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Litvina made the estimate in comments reported by TASS, linking the lost revenue to Finland's continued restrictions on cross-border travel with Russia.

According to TASS, Litvina pointed to a proposal by the Finnish government to extend a law aimed at countering what it describes as instrumentalized migration. The law, if extended as proposed, would remain in effect until the end of 2028.

Finland closed its border crossings with Russia in late 2023, citing concerns over an influx of migrants it said were being directed toward the border, a characterization Moscow has disputed.
