Finance Minister Yassine Jaber signed a draft decree canceling increased fees on imports covered by tariff codes 322 and 522, which had been raised under Decree 3754 of August 27, 2026. The decree has been referred to the Cabinet General Secretariat for further processing.
The measure restores previous customs rates for qualifying industrial importers. Jaber said the move aims to lower production costs, support Lebanese manufacturers, strengthen their competitiveness and ultimately reduce prices for consumers, while balancing the government's public revenue needs with support for productive sectors and job creation.
