FIA Arrests Suspect in Australia Visa Fraud Case, Recovers Full Amount for Complainant
The Federal Investigation Agency's Anti-Human Trafficking Circle recovered Rs277,635 allegedly taken from the complainant in a fraudulent visa scheme.

The Federal Investigation Agency's Islamabad Zone has arrested a suspect in a case involving alleged fraud related to an Australian visa application, recovering the full amount allegedly taken from the complainant.
An FIA official said the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) in Islamabad carried out the arrest on Thursday, following an inquiry into a complaint that the suspect had taken money from a victim under the pretext of arranging a visa to Australia.
The agency confirmed that the entire amount involved, Rs277,635, was recovered and is being returned to the complainant. Officials said the case was registered after completion of a formal inquiry, though further details on the exact nature of the fraudulent scheme or the suspect's identity were not disclosed.
Visa fraud and human trafficking-related cases have been a recurring focus for the FIA's specialised units, which investigate schemes in which individuals are promised overseas employment or travel documentation in exchange for payment, only to be defrauded or, in more serious cases, trafficked.
The FIA said the case would proceed through the standard legal process following the arrest, though it did not provide a timeline for any court proceedings against the suspect.
