Federal investigators search for cause of Amazon cargo jet crash that killed five
The NTSB has launched a preliminary investigation into Sunday's crash at Miami International Airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced a preliminary investigation into Amazon Air flight 7598, a Boeing 767-33 Alpha operated by 21 Air, an all-cargo airline. NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy announced the investigation at a press conference Monday.
Investigators are likely to focus on whether the plane touched down too late in its glide path onto the tarmac to enable it to stop safely, according to the report.
