Fact-Checking Trump’s UN General Assembly Speech
France 24’s Truth or Fake examined claims in Donald Trump’s UN address on munitions, oil and the Gaza ceasefire.

Donald Trump’s address to the United Nations General Assembly included a series of claims that fact-checkers found to be misleading, false or exaggerated, according to France 24’s Truth or Fake segment.
Trump said the United States has more munitions than it could ever use, a claim that stands in contrast to reports indicating that US munitions stocks have been depleting.
The US president also claimed that the United States and Venezuela together hold 60% of the world’s oil reserves, a figure that fact-checkers said does not add up based on available data.
Trump additionally said he had ended the war in Gaza, despite continued Israeli strikes and reported deaths that have occurred since a ceasefire took effect the previous year.
France 24 journalist Vedika Bahl examined these and other claims from the speech as part of the network’s ongoing Truth or Fake fact-checking coverage of major political addresses.
The discrepancies highlighted in the fact-check reflect broader patterns of contested and disputed statements that have characterized several of Trump’s public addresses on foreign policy and military matters.
