England's Football Association chair has written to Fifa president Gianni Infantino demanding disclosure of documents related to an abandoned World Cup monetization scheme and a player suspension decision.
Debbie Hewitt, chair of the Football Association, has formally demanded that Fifa president Gianni Infantino release all documents concerning his scrapped Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) sell-off plan and the decision to lift the suspension of USA striker Folarin Balogun during last summer's tournament, according to The Guardian. The letter was sent ahead of a Fifa council meeting scheduled for October 15.
Hewitt and other Fifa council members have previously lobbied for an independent review of both the proposed FFE scheme and the Balogun controversy, The Guardian reported last month. The formal demand comes as Infantino faces scrutiny ahead of his presidential re-election bid.
