Antonelli will start the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from 16th place after hitting the wall during qualifying, according to a report from the Italian news agency ANSA.

The Italian driver, described in the report as a prodigy, currently holds an 81-point lead at the top of the championship standings heading into the race weekend.

The qualifying crash leaves Antonelli with a difficult recovery drive from the middle of the grid if he is to add to his points total in Baku.

ANSA's report did not provide further detail on the extent of any damage to the car or team comments following the incident.
