Erdogan Holds Closed-Door Talks With Japan's Prime Minister Takaichi in New York

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held closed-door talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

The meeting is part of a series of bilateral discussions Erdogan has held with world leaders during the UN gathering, a routine occurrence during the annual assembly when many heads of state and government are present in one location.

Details of the topics discussed between Erdogan and Takaichi were not disclosed following the closed-door meeting, though such discussions between Turkish and Japanese leaders have previously touched on trade, diplomatic cooperation and regional security matters.
