EPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspects 16 Eateries Over Smoke Emissions
The provincial Environmental Protection Agency says it is stepping up checks on restaurants and BBQ outlets amid air quality concerns.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has continued its environmental monitoring activities, inspecting 16 restaurants, BBQ and Tikka shops with a special focus on smoke emissions and associated air quality concerns, according to a press release issued by the agency on Wednesday.
The agency stated that the inspections form part of its ongoing efforts to monitor sources of smoke and address environmental issues linked to air pollution in the province.
According to the press release, EPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said it would continue its monitoring drive to ensure compliance with environmental regulations among food outlets and other businesses contributing to smoke emissions.
The agency did not specify further details regarding the outcomes of the inspections, any violations found, or actions taken against the inspected establishments, according to the press release.
