England scrum-half Raffi Quirke has said that leaving Sale Sharks was one of the hardest decisions he has had to make, according to BBC Sport.

Quirke is among 25 new signings at Newcastle, which has rebranded as Newcastle Red Bulls following the energy drinks company's investment in the club.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Quirke said he was impressed by how things are taking shape at the revamped club, describing the project as an exciting one to be part of.

The move marks a significant reshaping of the Newcastle squad as the club undergoes changes under its new ownership arrangement. Details of the full list of incoming players and the club's plans for the upcoming season were not immediately available.

Quirke, who has represented England at international level, departs Sale Sharks to join the north-east club as it looks to build a new identity on the field.
