Emmanuel Macron a lancé un nouveau service militaire national, destiné dans un premier temps à une cohorte de 3 000 jeunes, selon Le Monde. Ce format succède au service national universel (SNU), mis en place précédemment.
Selon la publication, ce nouveau dispositif doit encore « faire ses preuves », en particulier sur deux points sensibles : son financement et l'emploi concret des jeunes volontaires engagés dans le programme.
Le Monde précise que ces volontaires pourront être amenés à remplacer des militaires d'active sur des « missions annexes », sans que le détail de ces missions ne soit davantage précisé dans les éléments disponibles.
