French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday evening, during a joint interview on TF1 and France 2, that France would send “military resources” to Saudi Arabia, amid growing international tensions in the Middle East.
The head of state did not publicly detail the exact nature of these resources or the timetable for their deployment, but justified the decision by the need to contribute to regional stability in the face of a rising number of incidents in the area.
Asked about the surge in fuel prices in France, Emmanuel Macron also said he was not ruling out a tax cut if prices at the pump continued to rise, though he did not commit to any specific measure or timeline.
