Sleep technology company Eight Sleep has announced its latest "intelligent sleep system," the Pod 6, which the company describes as its "most significant hardware launch to date."

The new system is built around a redesigned cooling hub that the company says is small enough to be tucked away under a bed, a departure from bulkier previous versions of the hardware. The Pod 6 continues Eight Sleep's approach of pairing temperature regulation with health and sleep tracking, monitoring metrics such as breathing and heart rate to adjust the bed's temperature throughout the night.

By linking these tracked metrics to real-time temperature control, the system aims to help users maintain more consistent, higher-quality sleep without needing to manually adjust bedding or room conditions.

The launch reflects a broader push by Eight Sleep to make its hardware less obtrusive while expanding the range of biometric data it captures. As competition in the sleep-tech and wearables market continues to grow, companies in the space have increasingly focused on combining comfort features with health monitoring capabilities.

Further details on pricing and availability for the Pod 6 were not included in the initial announcement.
