The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has lowered its economic growth forecast for the regions it covers to 2.5% for 2026, according to Anadolu Agency.

The bank's updated projection marks a downward revision from earlier estimates, reflecting a more cautious outlook for economies across the EBRD's operating regions this year.

Looking further ahead, the EBRD projects a stronger rebound in growth for 2027, with regional output expected to expand by 4%, according to the same report.

The bank did not provide a detailed breakdown of the factors behind the downgrade or which specific countries are expected to be most affected by the slower growth.

The EBRD, which supports economic development across parts of Europe, Central Asia, and the southern and eastern Mediterranean, regularly updates its growth projections as part of its ongoing assessment of the economies it finances.
