Documentary '50 Years of Punk' Features Surviving Members Reflecting on the Movement

A documentary marking half a century of British punk features surviving members of major acts including the Sex Pistols, the Damned, the Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the Stranglers recalling the music, fashion and culture of the late 1970s movement. According to The Guardian's review, the film includes perspectives from Glen Matlock, Rat Scabies, Terry Chimes, Steve Severin, and Hugh Cornwell, among others.

The film gives some screen time to female participants including Gaye Advert and Viv Albertine, though the review notes women remain underrepresented in the documentary despite their role in the era. Designer Vivienne Westwood and her King's Road boutique Sex—run with Malcolm McLaren—receive recognition as central to punk's origins.
