Two Gironde firefighters promoted to the Legion of Honor after their deaths in July

The two professional firefighters, each 34 years old, were stationed at the Saint-Médard-en-Jalles fire station in Gironde. They died on July 21 in a forest fire that occurred near Bordeaux Airport.
A national tribute ceremony will take place Friday, September 18, during which the two deceased will be promoted to the Legion of Honor.
