A Danish World War II drama about a woman trying to hide a wartime relationship with a Nazi won the Golden Lion, the top prize at the Venice Film Festival, France 24 reported.

The film, "Unknown Woman," had been a major talking point of the festival due to its subject matter and because director May el-Toukhy was among the few women directors at the event, according to the report, which noted that Gaza documentary "NAZA" won the festival's special jury prize.
