A TER regional train operating the Rouen-Caen route derailed Friday evening, leaving around forty injured according to a preliminary toll, including a woman evacuated in critical condition.
A regional express train (TER) traveling between Rouen and Caen derailed Friday evening in Seine-Maritime, according to information shared on social network X by Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot.
The train was carrying 186 passengers at the time of the incident, the minister specified. According to a preliminary toll, around forty people were injured.
The prosecutor's office indicated that a woman had been evacuated in critical condition, without specifying at this stage the exact nature of her injuries.
The precise circumstances of the derailment have not yet been disclosed. Authorities have also not provided details on the number of seriously injured or the status of emergency services mobilized at the scene.
