Death of Catherine Ringer, Voice of the Rita Mitsouko
The singer of the iconic French duo the Rita Mitsouko died of cancer at age 68, her children announced to AFP.
Catherine Ringer, co-founder of the Rita Mitsouko alongside Fred Chichin, passed away from cancer, according to a statement from her children reported Tuesday by Agence France-Presse. The duo, formed in 1982, ranks among the most important groups in French rock music with landmark albums such as "The No Comprendo" and "Garage d'amour."
Fred Chichin, the other founding member of the group, died in 2007. The Rita Mitsouko had captivated several generations of music lovers through their avant-garde style and innovative music videos.
