Court hears evidence of surfboard bag purchase in Sydney police murder trial
A Sydney court has heard evidence about a surfboard bag allegedly used to conceal a victim's body, as a former police officer stands trial for the murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
A Sydney court has heard evidence that former New South Wales police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon was seen sizing up a surfboard bag before he allegedly used it to help dispose of a victim's body, according to The Guardian.
Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to murdering Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, whom prosecutors allege he fatally shot with his police service weapon at Baird's home in the Sydney suburb of Paddington on 19 February 2024. He is also accused of concealing the bodies in bags purchased from a sports store.
Prosecutors told the jury that CCTV footage shown in court captured Lamarre-Condon examining a surfboard bag at a retail store in the days before the alleged killings, which they say he later used to help conceal one of the victims.
The trial is ongoing, with further evidence expected to be presented to the jury in the coming days. Lamarre-Condon denies the charges against him.
