Conservationists oppose offshore windfarm near Bass Rock over seabird mortality

The Berwick Bank offshore windfarm, set to be one of the world's largest, is located a few kilometers from Bass Rock in Scotland. According to the RSPB, the project could kill more than 4,000 seabirds in its first year alone, including gannets, puffins, and endangered kittiwakes.
The letter, published in The Guardian, highlights concerns from renewable energy supporters who oppose the windfarm's proximity to the seabird sanctuary, citing existing pressures on bird populations including avian flu.
