Commanders Owner Josh Harris Picks Up Bar Tab for Thousands of Fans in London

Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris covered the bar tab for a crowd of roughly 3,000 fans who gathered at a BrewDog pub in London on Saturday afternoon, according to accounts of the event.

The gathering brought together Commanders supporters in the English capital, where the NFL franchise is scheduled to play as part of the league's international games program. Harris, who has owned the team since 2023, joined fans at the bar rather than keeping his visit behind the scenes.

A costly show of goodwill

Estimates of the final bill have circulated at around $50,000, reflecting the scale of the free drinks provided to the large turnout. The exact final cost has not been independently confirmed.

The event is the latest example of NFL franchise owners using international trips as opportunities to build goodwill with growing fan bases overseas. The league has expanded its regular-season game slate in London and other European cities in recent years, drawing larger crowds of traveling and local supporters alike.

Fans who attended described a festive atmosphere, with Harris mingling among the crowd throughout the afternoon.

The Commanders' trip to London continues as the team prepares for its game in the city, part of the NFL's broader push to grow its fan base in the United Kingdom and across Europe.
