UK Housing Secretary John Healey has been urged to fix a £100,000 childcare "cliff edge" that critics say pushes some higher-paid parents to reduce work hours or stop working to avoid losing their entitlement, The Guardian reported.
Under the current threshold, families with young children where both parents earn less than £100,000 a year can qualify for up to 30 hours a week of taxpayer-funded care, or none at all if one parent crosses that threshold, according to the report.
