2027 Budget: Lecornu Announces €1.5 Billion to Combat Gender-Based and Sexual Violence

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced Tuesday the budgets the government intends to allocate to combating gender-based and sexual violence, in anticipation of parliamentary review of a "comprehensive law" on this subject in fall 2026, according to information reported by France 24.
According to these announcements, the government plans to allocate approximately €1.5 billion to combating gender-based and sexual violence as part of the 2027 budget.
A second budgetary component concerns child protection, for which €2.6 billion would be earmarked, according to the same source.
These amounts are still subject to discussion during review of the 2027 finance bill, as well as the text relating to the "comprehensive law" against gender-based and sexual violence, parliamentary review of which is expected in fall 2026.
