British woman rescued in Malawi after police shootout with kidnappers
Nusrat Osman was freed following a gunfight in which four alleged abductors were killed, a week after being taken from her home in Blantyre.
Nusrat Osman was abducted outside her home in the southern Malawian city of Blantyre on September 11 and has now been rescued by police following a shootout, according to The Guardian. Four of her alleged abductors were killed during the operation.
Malawi police had offered a reward of 30 million kwacha (approximately £12,950) for information leading to Osman's rescue and the arrest of those responsible for her kidnapping.
