British rapper Sway dies aged 44
The Mobo award-winning artist, known for his independence and influence on UK hip-hop, has died.
Sway, a pioneering British rapper who won the Mobo award for best hip-hop act in 2005 as an unsigned artist, has died aged 44. The announcement was made by the Mobo awards, which described him as inspirational to a generation of Black British musicians.
Sway achieved UK Top 10 chart success and was known for nurturing other artists including KSI. The Mobo awards statement said: "Proud to have him as part of our history. Our love goes out to his family, loved ones and fans."
